Our driving force is to tell stories that move people, engage audiences, and reach a broad public. The role of Editor-in-Chief is intense, varied, and rewarding. As Editor-in-Chief, you lead the organisation and are responsible for structuring and overseeing the company’s productions. The position includes overall responsibility for planning, execution, and quality assurance across Filt’s projects.
You ensure that productions maintain a high standard, that work processes run efficiently, and that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
The role combines hands-on production management, people leadership, and editorial development. As Editor-in-Chief, you will also help develop new productions together with Filt’s management team.
Responsibilities
Leadership
Line management responsibility for Filt’s editorial staff, primarily reporters and producers.
Lead, coach, and develop the editorial team to create a creative, supportive, and productive work environment.
Hold regular check-ins, feedback sessions, and follow-ups with team members.
Production Management and Planning
Responsibility for production planning and production budgets.
Develop production plans, timelines, and workflows.
Staff productions with internal team members and freelancers when needed.
Manage challenges and crises that arise during productions and in the workplace.
Editorial Responsibility
Ensure that Filt’s productions maintain a high standard and meet publishing and journalistic requirements.
Communicate with clients and commissioning editors.
Follow developments within podcasts, radio, and storytelling to ensure relevant and engaging content.

Collaboration and Business
Work closely with the CEO and Head of Development on developing new projects and partnerships, and when time allows, develop new programme ideas and concepts.
Participate in pitch work and presentations to clients and commissioners.
Be part of the management team, contributing strategic thinking, helping define the company’s direction, and providing external outlook and insights.
About you
Qualifications
Proven experience working with journalistic production and leading editorial teams.
Experience with people management and HR-related matters.
Strong understanding of storytelling techniques, journalistic processes, and editorial work.
In-depth industry knowledge.
Ability to run multiple parallel projects without compromising quality or pace.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience in audio production or podcasts is a plus, but not a requirement.
